You just cannot imagine how much work goes into a complete refurishment or total renovation until one is happening in your very own house. The mess and disruption cannot be underestimated and the feeling that your home is never going to be the same again, or yours to yourself either. But then you asked for the work to be done so it wasn’t styaing like the old place and the mess shouldn’t stay for ever. Unless you are appallingly unlucky and find yourself with the contractor from hell. The best possible way is to engage a decent design and maintenance contract house. The project team will take you through stage by stage pricing etc. You just need a rough idea of what your finished room / home should look like, what you can afford etc. By working out what needs to be replaced and what renovated, the designer will do some schematics to kick start and you just agree the design and the price.
